Super & subscript symbols
Superscript and subscript characters sit above or below the baseline at a smaller size: ᵃᵇ and ₁₂. They were standardised for footnotes and chemical formulas, but they get used far more often as tiny decorative text.
Adding a small mark after a name — 'name ᵕ̈' — gives it a delicate finish that a full-size character cannot. Coverage is limited to Latin letters and digits, so this is one of the few categories that only works with Latin text.

Frequently asked questions
Can I make non-Latin text superscript?
No. Unicode only defined raised and lowered forms for Latin letters and digits, so other scripts have no equivalents and stay at full size. This is a limitation of the standard, not of the tool.
Some letters do not convert.
A handful of superscript letters — several capitals in particular — were never encoded, so they pass through unchanged. Using lowercase input gives the most complete result.
