Hearts are the single most copied symbol on this site, and it is not close. The set runs from the plain outline (♡) through the solid black heart (♥) to the full range of colored emoji hearts (❤️💗🤍), which means you can match the weight and tone of your profile instead of settling for whatever your keyboard offers.
One heart at each end of a display name, or a single one closing a bio line, changes the feel of a profile more than any other edit of the same size. Monochrome profiles look best with the outlined ♡ and ❥; colorful ones can carry the emoji hearts. Restraint reads better than a row of them — one or two placed deliberately beats six in a line.

Why does my heart show up as an empty box?
Emoji hearts such as ❤️ depend on a color emoji font, and older devices or stripped-down apps may not have one. The plain Unicode hearts ♡ and ♥ are decades older and render almost everywhere, so switch to those when your text has to survive unknown devices.
How do I add a heart to my Instagram display name?
Tap the heart you want to copy it, open Edit profile in Instagram, and paste it into the Name field. Placing it directly against the text with no space usually looks tighter than leaving a gap, and it costs you one fewer character.
